As AI workloads now stretch from tiny IoT devices to massive data centers, new challenges emerge: How can chipmakers translate such a diverse range of computing power in a way that is both clear and scalable for different audiences?
When launching its 2nd-Generation Intelligence family, we collaborated with SiFive to translate its cutting-edge chip IP into modular design system.
The modular design system visualized SiFive’s IP architecture and enhanced its position in the value chain. This system served as a framework and strategic narrative that empowered anyone to design custom chips without restrictions.
Our work combined a refreshed brand look and feel with layered visuals inspired by a LEGO-like building system. Three-dimensional renderings showcased the system’s features and computing capabilities of the system, and animated sequences brought them to life. These elements provided SiFive with a visual language that made the technology’s complexity understandable without diminishing its advanced nature.
The introduction of the Intelligence Gen 2 core demonstrates how the flexible system can address various AI requirements at each level. Modularity and configurability are identified as the key differentiators that set it apart. By mapping the entire spectrum from IoT to data centers within one scalable architecture, it gives decision-makers with a coherent view of the portfolio.
Designed for modularity and clarity, the system highlights its core capabilities – scalar, vector, and matrix compute – as well as configurability in vector widths, memory subsystems, and accelerator interfaces. It shows how SiFive’s IP technology enables low-power autonomy at the edge, efficient scaling in embedded systems, and high-throughput computing in data centers. The system brings order to complexity, demonstrating how SiFive’s technology is connecting the industry today and where it can take it tomorrow.
